#EATGREEN THIS EARTH DAY 2020

This Earth Day (4/22/2020), we are partnering with our community and fellow activists to encourage us all to make a commitment to #EatGreen.

The theme of Earth Day 2020 is climate action. The global food system – including farming and grazing, transportation, packaging, and feed production – produces 37% of greenhouse-gas emissions according to a UN report. Changing how we eat is one of the most important things we can do to reverse climate change and support the health of our planet. By becoming more conscious eaters, we can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, water use, plastic waste, and more.

COMMITTED TO SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability is a core value that we are deeply committed to here at Lettuce Grow.

Our mission has always been to empower people to grow their own food. It's healthier, tastier, more rewarding than store bought produce, and the most sustainable option. 

In designing the Farmstand (our hydroponic self-watering, self-fertilizing vertical garden), we chose to use recycled ocean plastic. We're proud to share that since the launch we’ve been able to save 193,508 plastic milk jugs from the ocean.

Growing with the Farmstand uses 95% less water and resources than traditional agriculture. Our community of passionate growers have saved over 9 million gallons of water by growing with the Farmstand. 

In the coming years we hope to continue to use both technology and our platform to build a more sustainable future.
