It’s normal to see little growth on your Farmstand after your first week before they start to take off in later weeks. You will be up to your ears in produce in no time with a little bit of work and patience. While we can’t teach patience, we can teach you how to take care of your Farmstand each week.

Watch the video below for information on your Farmstand’s weekly maintenance and keep reading for more details!

Weekly Maintenance

This typically takes 5 - 10 minutes however growers tend to spend more time each week as they become more passionate about their plants and growing their own food. Every week, you will need to:

1.

Refill your Farmstand’s reservoir until the water line is a few inches below the opening

2.

Add nutrients

3.

Test and adjust your pH

You may need to refill your Farmstand with water more often than once a week if you are growing in hot weather or have lots of large plants. Don’t worry about adding nutrients or adjusting pH if you have to add more water outside of your weekly maintenance!

Our nutrient dosages can be found on the bag of the nutrient bags as well as in our iOS and Android apps. These will change throughout the year based on the season and environment you are growing in so be sure to stay up to date. You can also reference the chart below.

Inspect Your Plants

Inspecting your seedlings during your weekly maintenance is a great way to keep track of their growth, assess their health, and quickly take care of any issues that may arise. It also helps to get growers comfortable with their plants and harvesting sooner!

A good place to start is the undersides of plant’s leaves and against their stems as this is typically where pests and disease appear. It is much easier to get rid of pests when they first appear than once they have had some time to settle in. Learn more about how to recognize and get rid of common pests here!
