GENOVESE BASIL OVERVIEW

We chose this prime Italian variety for its wide, tender leaves and proud stature. Genovese is a classic form of an herb we all know and love for its rich taste and scent. Reminiscent of anise and cloves, basil is found in cuisines all over the world.

GROWING AND HARVESTING TIPS

Growing up to 24”, this basil can quickly grow lanky, a condition that will worsen as it tries to flower. To curtail this tendency, pinch or cut stalks as they grow past 6 - 8” to encourage side shoot production and make the plant bushier. When harvesting, make sure to leave around 4” of stalk from base where new leaves and branches can grow.
