Farmstand Maintenance Checklist

every week

  • top off your tank with cool water—and check your water level mid-week if it’s super hot (90°F+) outside
  • add nutrients—but only if you added new water!
    • note: if you skip adding water one week, double up on nutrients when adding water the following week
  • check your pH and adjust with pH Down as needed
  • prune away dead or dying leaves
  • spot check for bugs and take action early if you see any pest activity—our Arber Kit is a great organic option

  • Confirm all your seedlings are being watered properly by feeling the grow medium. If something feels dry, check to see if roots from a plant above are clogging the drain holes, and adjust if necessary.

every time you get new seedlings

  • mist new seedlings with cool water and place in a cool, dry, shaded location for 1-2 days before planting
  • don’t stress about minor yellowing, torn leaves, or slight wilting—seedlings will perk back up a couple of days after you plant them
  • aim to plant in your Farmstand when the outdoor temperature is between 55-80F°; for indoor stands, plant with lights off
  • double check your seedlings are fully inside their cups and cups are seated all the way into your farmstand so plants are watered properly
