How can I treat powdery mildew on my plants using Arber?

Growing lush greens, veggies, and herbs in your LettuceGrow Farmstand is THE most luxurious and rewarding experience until you notice white fuzzy patches starting to grow on one of your plants. Before you panic, know that it happens to the best of us. Here’s the proper way to get rid of it ASAP and save your harvests.

So What’s the White Fuzz?

Warm and humid indoor and outdoor greenspaces are the perfect breeding ground for a white fuzz, known as powdery mildew. This mildew results from fungus spores setting up shop in your plant’s foliage. Albeit not immediately fatal, powdery mildew coats leaves and prevents proper photosynthesis, which can stunt your plant’s growth. Even more, powdery mildew can spread rapidly over a diseased plant and quickly travel to all the plants on your Farmstand or any neighboring plants.

Powdery mildew can easily get out of hand if not resolved, but you also have to be mindful of what you use to address the problem because you’re eating what you’re growing– this is why the Lettuce Grow team fell in love with using Arber’s Bio Fungicide when plant disease tries to attack our Farmstand.

How to Use Arber to Treat Powdery Mildew

In this case, grab Arber’s Bio Fungicide. This powerful biological concentrate contains a unique strand of Bacillus– a beneficial fungus that kills powdery mildew fungus spores and fortifies your plants against future attacks. The treatment is simple to mix; here’s how to use it:

  1. With biologicals, it’s always best to use them preventatively when possible. Once the seedlings are set up in your farmstand, spray foliage and the exposed area of the growing medium to protect your plants against the spores that grow into powdery mildew. If you’re growing indoors and have grow lights installed, turn them off before treating and keep them off until the solution has dried. For outdoor growing, spray solution early in the morning or at dusk. (Direct light can burn damp leaves.) Repeat this process every 2 weeks for best results.

  1. If you need to treat an outbreak– no worries! Arber can still work for you. Discard dead leaves and remove as many severely diseased leaves as possible. (Your plant will need its newest and healthiest leaves to recover.) Spray foliage and the exposed area of the growing medium every 3-5 days until the problem is under control. If you’re growing indoors and have grow lights installed, turn them off before treating and keep them off until the solution has dried. For outdoor growing, spray solution early in the morning or at dusk. (Direct light can burn damp leaves.) From there, treat every 2 weeks for best results.
