Weekly maintenance resolves most issues
- Keeping up with your regular maintenance is your best strategy for successful growing. Here is the maintenance checklist for the Counterstand.
I'm doing weekly maintenance but my plants still look distressed
- Don't worry if a few seedlings look wilted upon arrival—transportation can be stressful for them. Seedlings are remarkably resilient and typically perk up after a few days in your Counterstand! Make sure to follow instructions for receiving new seedlings to give them some help recovering their journey.
- Double check the position of your wick. Make sure the bottom of the wick is in contact with the water and the top is in contact with the base of the plant.
- Confirm that the base of your plant is not sitting in water. ONLY refill your Counterstand if water is almost empty (~1/2" inch from the bottom), as follows:
-
- Add purified water to the “REFILL" or "MAX" line.
- Add ~ 3 half-full droppers of plant food directly in the water (not the plant) and only when you are adding new water. You will do this by lifting the cup.
- Add purified water to the “REFILL" or "MAX" line.
- If you suspect that you have been feeding your plants incorrectly, go ahead and perform a full reset, as follows:
-
- Empty out all water from the vessel
- Add new purified water up to the "REFILL" or "MAX" line
- Add ~3 half-full droppers of plant food directly to the water
- Continue with regular weekly maintenance
- Confirm that your plants are getting at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day, or 16 hours of light under your Glow Lamp.
- Regular air flow is important for plant health. If there is limited air flow near your Counterstand, consider using a small fan or move it to a location closer to an existing fan or A/C unit.
