Algae buildup — time to clean

Even with good maintenance, algae can build up. A full clean resets the system.

Steps to resolve

  1. Drain the tank completely
  2. Scrub visible algae from inside the tank and lid
  3. Block light entering the tank — algae needs light to grow
  4. Refill with fresh water, correct pH, add new nutrients
