Harvesting tips

Similar to other kale varieties, Bear Necessities Kale can be harvested in its early growth stages to be used as tender baby leaves or left to mature in order to develop heartier leaves. Harvest leaves by cutting the stems a half-inch from where they are growing out of the main stem. If you are doing a "cut and come again" harvest, be sure to only harvest about 1/3 of the plant's leaves at a time to ensure future harvests.
