Harvesting tips

For fresh snap beans, harvest when the flat beans turn from lime green to buffed yellow with bright purple stripes. If you want full-sized dried beans, let pods fully mature. The plant will grow 24-30 inches tall. Beans will be an average of 6 in at harvest.

It's easy with the Farmstand

Our self-watering, self-fertilizing hydroponic system takes all the guesswork out of growing your own veggies.

    New Beans to Me

This has been a fun plant to grow. We've never tried Dragon Tongue Beans and they taste great! The plant grew upwards and we supported it with the northward lights, it grew small flowers and finally we had an abundance of beans at one time on a single plant! The dried up flowers made a little mess on the floor - our only plant that has "littered," but well worth the cleanup for a delicious bean. So far we've only had them raw, but they will be cooked at dinner tonight! Love fresh beans!

    Woo!

So easy and happy! We placed it on the bottom shelf per the suggestion and have it facing away from the south facing window and it's thriving. Only 1 week in and it's hinting at growing beans.
