Italian Parsley

$2.99
Much more than just a garnish, parsley is a culinary essential in its own right.

An herb with a delicious sweet flavor, parsley is very closely related to the parsnip and will develop a similar tasting, thicker tap root if left in your farm long enough. It is slow to bolt and can be kept and cut from as needed for many weeks. We chose this variety for its large leaf surface area, and intense but not overpowering flavor.

Harvesting tips

Wait until plant is 6-10", then start harvesting sprigs as needed. At harvest, cut stems 3" from base of plant to protect new leaves and keep in a glass of water on counter if using within the next 5 days. Otherwise, chopped parsley can be kept in the crisper drawer for about two weeks or, for long term storage, can be blended with a little water or oil and frozen in ice cube trays and thawed as needed. Remove when plant becomes too large for port.
