Farmstand Maintenance Checklist

Every week

  • Harvest food that is ready to eat!
  • Top off your tank with cool water. If growing outside, check your water level mid-week if it’s hot (85°F+).
  • Add nutrients (only if you added water). If you skipped water last week → double nutrients this week.
  • Check pH and adjust with pH Down as needed
  • Prune away dead or dying leaves
  • Spot check for pests and treat early (the Arber Kit is a great organic option).
  • Confirm all your seedlings are slightly damp to the touch. If something feels dry, check to see if roots from a plant above are clogging the drain holes. Trim roots or relocate plants if needed.
  • If growing indoors, consider adding a fan nearby your stand to increase airflow and promote healthier growth.

Every time you get new seedlings

  • Mist seedlings with cool water and keep in a shaded spot for 1–2 days before planting.
  • Don’t worry about yellowing, torn leaves, or wilting—they’ll bounce back.
  • Always plant with the lights off.
  • Make sure seedlings are pushed fully in their cups and cups are seated in your Farmstand so plants are watered properly.
  • Make sure your timer settings are appropriate for current climate conditions. Link to Indoor timer or outdoor timer instructions.

Every 3 months

  • Reset your Farmstand—outdoor or indoor!
    • Keeping your modules clean and refreshing your tank with new water is key to continuous success with your Farmstand.
