Summer is bringing the heat so we have laid out a few helpful tips to make sure your summer growing is as smooth as possible!
Seasons change and so should your watering cycle. Make sure your timer is set to the correct time of day when setting the watering cycle since there are different times for night and day. You can find our seasonal recommendations on our Setup and Assembly Guide.
The hottest season of the year typically brings heat, some growers might need to add water more than once a week. You do not need to add nutrients each time you add water, so check your water levels and stick to adding nutrients and adjusting pH during your weekly maintenance!
It will be helpful to trim your plant’s roots since big root systems drink much more water than small root systems. This will also help to make sure that no plants get stuck in your Farmstand and water is not diverted or blocked from other seedlings! Watch how to trim your plant's roots.
Soaring temperatures can shock new seedlings. You can help them acclimate to their new environment by putting them in some water and placing them in partial shade for 1-2 days before putting them in the Farmstand. Placing them in a windowsill is fine if you are growing indoors. This way they won’t be shocked when they are exposed to the hot summer temperatures.
We have put together a helpful guide with information on how to beat the heat this summer. Learn more here!
