Get back on your weekly routine

When top-ups, nutrients or pH checks slip, the water level drops and the reservoir drifts out of balance. Plants respond by slowing down, setting small fruit and turning pale or yellow. Most bounce back within a week or two of getting back on schedule.

Steps to resolve

  1. Top up the tank with cool water
  2. Add nutrients for the amount of water you just added, using the dose in your weekly email or the Lettuce Grow app
  3. Never add nutrients without adding water, and do not dose for the weeks you missed, a low tank has already concentrated what is left
  4. Test your pH after topping up and adjust to 5.5 to 6.5
  5. If it has been two months or more since your last water change, skip the catch-up and do a full reset: drain, clean, refill with fresh water, check pH and add a fresh initial nutrient dose
  6. Prune off badly yellowed leaves and watch the new growth, it should look healthier within one to two weeks
  7. Pick one day each week to top up, dose and check pH so it becomes a habit
